Over the last decade, British politics has experienced an usually tumultuous time, which coalition governments, three elections and five prime ministers.

Whilst journalists and academics have questioned whether the manner of politics in this country is fit for purpose, in a collaborative debate, we aim to answer a more fundamental question. Activist group like Just Stop Oil and XR are on the rise, as well as the power of interest groups and media.

Considering this, is the political party still the most effective way of organising political engagement?
