COMME TOI:
Comme toi is a song by Jean-Jacques Goldman, released in 1982 on the album Jean-Jacques Goldman (Minoritaire). He presents Sarah, a Jewish child victim of the Holocaust.
The idea for this song came to Goldman while looking at the photo of a little girl (who was not necessarily called Sarah), in a family album of her mother who was born in Germany.
Of Polish Jewish origin, Goldman shows his attachment to the countries of Eastern Europe and their musical traditions; he does not play the violin solo in the first version of the song, but will do so in his concerts.
The single will be certified gold in 1983 for more than 500,000 copies sold.

Eight of his albums have been certified diamond (over a million copies each): seven studio albums and one compilation. Eight of his singles are certified gold, seven of which were released in the 1980s selling over 500,000 copies each. The song Je te donne, released in 1985, is his biggest commercial success with a platinum certification (more than a million copies sold).
