Jinshazhou is a large area located in the Baiyun District of Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China. It is situated in the western part of Guangzhou, bordered by the Baisha River section of the Pearl River to the east, and connected to the Nanhai District of Foshan City to the north and west, placing it at the forefront of the Guangzhou-Foshan metropolitan integration. Administratively, Jinshazhou is primarily governed by the Jinsha Subdistrict of Baiyun District. Due to its unique geographical location, surrounded by Foshan on three sides, it serves as a crucial link between Guangzhou and Foshan. In its early days, the area consisted mainly of farmland with inconvenient transportation that relied on ferry services for external access. Following the opening of the Jinshazhou Bridge in 2003, the area underwent large-scale development and rapidly transformed into a new urban district dominated by extensive residential communities. It has attracted a large number of commuters who work in downtown Guangzhou, earning it the nickname "Sleepy City." In terms of transportation, in addition to the Jinshazhou Bridge, several other bridges connect it to surrounding areas. Guangzhou Metro Line 6 has established three stations on the island (Xunfenggang, Hengsha, Shabei), greatly facilitating residents' travel. Future plans for new metro lines are set to further enhance its transport network.
