A fibula fracture in April 2023 seemed minor. But just weeks later, Lakshmi Venkatachalam faced a massive pulmonary embolism that led to cardiac arrest—11 times.

An HR professional based in the US, Lakshmi was clinically dead multiple times before emergency responders and doctors revived her with cycles of CPR and clot-busting medication. The aftermath was daunting: hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), femoral nerve compression, memory loss, speech difficulties, and severe weakness in her left leg.

After undergoing rehabilitation in California and trying several treatments in India, Lakshmi discovered PRS Neurosciences through a YouTube video featuring Dr. Sharan Srinivasan. What followed was a coordinated rehab journey that included physiotherapy, occupational therapy, cognitive therapy, and speech therapy. With dedicated guidance, she regained her ability to walk, speak clearly, manage daily tasks, and even prepare to return to her career in HR through simulation interviews and task-based therapy.
