Special parliament session to start in old building on Sep 18, move to new building on 19th: Sources

As New Delhi is decked up for the G20 Summit, the nation is also excited for much-awaited historic moment which is likely to take place on Sept 19. Months after the inauguration of the new Parliament, a part of monsoon session will be held at the new building, sources told ANI. As per sources, Special Session of Parliament will start in the old building on Sept 18 and will be moved to the new building on Sept 19. The new Parliament building is designed to enable 888 members to sit in the Lok Sabha and 384 in the Rajya Sabha. The new Parliament Building was inaugurated by PM Modi on May 28 followed by the installation of the historic Sengol. Meanwhile, a fresh political row erupted political row erupted between INDIA bloc and BJP, days ahead of Special Session. CPP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Sept 06 wrote a letter to PM Modi demanding a discussion and debate on several issues in the nation. She further in the letter, said the session is being held without any consultation with other political parties. Reacting to the letter, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi claimed that she has been trying to politicise the parliamentary session. Ahead of Special Session of Parliament, political showdown continues over One Nation, One Election ‘ONOE’ and Bharat vs India row. A committee has been constituted by Centre to explore possibility of implementing ONOE and its report is likely to be discussed in the Special Session
