An actual Japanese "hidden gem," not in travel websites or magazines.

This is weird. There is no information online about this river spot in Miyazaki, Japan. The gorge is labelled on Google Maps, but there are no pictures of it on Google Maps, which is unheard of in this day and age. The place is also labelled in my map book and wall map poster, and yet a Google search of the place, using both Japanese and roman alphabet, turns up no pictures. Huh? So strange. And I have never seen the gorge in a travel/sightseeing book or magazine. But it IS a named place. So why no photos or info? So weird.
Yeah, this is a legitimate "hidden gem" that is "off the beaten path," which is what people love to talk about in Youtube vids, right? Well, no fibbing here.

Here is the Google Maps link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/uKRS6UQBUiA1k...

And the name of the place is 御手洗 渓谷 (Mitarai keikoku). Keikoku means gorge in Japanese.
