"Friday morning was sunny but cool and, on paper, practice had settled down to the old routine: Senna quickest with Prost in second place, two-tenths of a second slower. In fact, Alain's plans had been severely disrupted by the throttle problem which forced him to use the spare car - and the gear ratios on that chassis were not right. For the afternoon, he would be back in his race car. Or so he thought...
