It is obvious that the repeated wars in our society, cutting salaries, and the crises that the country is going through have led to a deterioration in public health and an increase in the number of patients – especially those who need hospitalization and private care – and this increase in the number of patients is not commensurate with the number of nurses who provide health care. For example, each nurse must follow dozens of cases at the same time and be responsible for them, which leads to delaying the necessary care for the patient in a timely manner.


As the World Health Organization has proven the deterioration of health care conditions in Yemen compared to neighboring countries in its scheme for statistics of the Z-UHC Service Coverage Index for the year 2017.
Also, in the statistics of Personnel per 10,000 population-Physicians, Yemen appeared among the countries with the least availability of doctors, with a rate of 1.7 doctors per 10,000 people.

Although the nurses do their job to the fullest, many problems occur due to this gap in medical care , for example when a patient enters into a coma, shock or convulsion, and the nurse is not present with this patient at the same time, the patient's condition gets worse. As a consequence of not providing primary care it often leads to death.

Therefore, we want to contribute to solving the problems of shortage of medical staff through the Digital Care system.

The idea of the Digital Care system:
It is an integrated system that uses many modern technologies such as IOT and cloud computing to improve health care and reduce the shortage of medical staff in the community. This is done by using a small device placed on the patient's wrist to continuously track vital signs and send instant alerts when these signs go beyond normal.

The system operation steps
Create an account:
User accounts for patients and doctors are created through the system's control panel interfaces

sign in:
doctors and nurses can log into the application

procedures:
The doctor-nurse scans the barcode of the bed in order to add the patient to his "scheduling" tasks.
When the vital signs go beyond the normal range, the system sends an immediate warning to the nurse in charge of the patient, warning him that the patient is in a critical condition.
If the nurse does not interact with the alarm, he has probably another critical condition, the system will automatically transfer the alarm to a dashboard located at the nursing department secretariat.

The secretariat should accept the warning and send another nurse to provide care for the patient, in this way the number of cases that reach the stage of death is reduced.
Advantages:

Continuous Monitoring: The device enables continuous monitoring of patients' vital signs, which reduces the need for nurses' continuous follow-up and increases the chances of detecting health problems in a timely manner.

Available call button for patients that enable the patients to call for a help at any time so there is no need to wait for the nurse to the coming round..
Early Warning: When vital signs exceed their normal limits, an alert is sent to the nurse in charge of the patient's care, allowing the nurse to provide the necessary care to the patient before his condition deteriorates.

Rapid Response: If the nurse, who is responsible for the patient's care, is not available, the bell and the lamp will help to attract the attention of any other nurse and provide the necessary medical care to the patient
Effective communication: The button that the patient can use to call the nurses allows effective communication between nurses and patients that the necessary care is received in a timely manner.
Remote Monitoring: An app linked to the device allows doctors to monitor patients' vital signs from anywhere at any time so there is no need to be in the hospital in person.
The doctors able to follow up the patients from home in the event that there is a curfew due to infectious diseases such as the Corona virus.

Storing the vital signs of each patient in tables reduce wasting time in measuring vital signs manually.

Print reports for each patient as a pdf file helps the doctors and the nurses to notice the differences in vital signs from time to time to know the extent of the patient's condition stability.

Storing vital signs when they are out of the normal range in a database to collect data for prospecting and future work.
