Building the Dumas Ace Sloop 17 Part 3

Описание к видео Building the Dumas Ace Sloop 17 Part 3

Hello and welcome to part three of my build log of the Dumas Ace Sloop 17

In this week's video, I'm going to be finishing off sealing and painting the hull to make sure everything is watertight and shipshape, before adding the sails and rigging to this free sailing vintage yacht kit.
This is mostly achieved by layers of varnish applied carefully with light sanding in between each coat. As well as painting the hull I also paint the Keel Bulb and rudder which needs to be added now before the rest of the rigging goes on top

Other than a few hiccups along the way the kit is coming along fairly easily with only a few minor issues with its construction mostly due to a few slightly confusing bits in the instructions, and my own poor craftmanship/rushing. This sailing ship is meant for beginners as an introduction to the hobby of model sailboats and so far it seems to fit the bill perfectly.

I can't wait to get this little sloop out on my local boating lake and see how she handles and been free sailing there is literally no telling what she will do

As always thank you for stopping by. I hope if you are building one of these little boats yourself, that you found my step by step video helpful, or if not, that at the least you found it entertaining

Until next time look after yourself and have a good one
