A Maidstone United supporter has gone viral after a video showed him slide-tackling a taunting rival fan. The incident took place following the Stones’ 1-0 loss to Boreham Wood in the National League South play-off final on Sunday. By this morning, one clip had already racked up 1.8 million views. As the final whistle blew at Meadow Park, home fans flooded the pitch to celebrate promotion. While most were simply soaking in the victory, one Boreham Wood fan — beer in hand — approached the away end to provoke the 1,000 Maidstone supporters. In response, a Stones fan leapt the barrier behind the goal and sprinted roughly 30 yards before executing a slide tackle on the unsuspecting fan, sending him — and his drink — flying.
