Lasko ultra Air Tower fan Sam's club disappointment review

I should have looked it up myself before making the purchase but I assumed that night mode meant that you could completely turn off all of the LED lighting on this unit. that is not the case by any means. additionally, due to the cheap materials with zero attempt to noise insulate or baffle there is definitely a mechanical sound that overwhelms the wind sound on low speed. The low speed is actually quite high compared to what I thought it would be. I happen to like noise due to my tinnitus however my wife does not. night mode actually means that the fan starts on high speed when you push the button for an hour then throughout the 7-hour sleep cycle for night mode it reduces one step at a time over the course of a couple hours per step until the user interacts with it again. I don't find that to be a useful feature personally. when I set a fan I want it staying exactly as I set it until I interact with it. This makes night mode and the lousy 50% light reduction that it claims completely useless to us. I don't want to put a piece of painters tape over the LED light just to use a brand new fan so we'll just get another one that has more fan speeds and a higher build quality with some noise insulating properties to the mechanical components.
