25 Fontes Levada Walk, Levada Alecrim, Lagoa do Vento + Risco Waterfall (PR6 Madeira)

We were looking for a beautiful and challenging hike on the island of Madeira, but the reviews we read online of the 25 Fontes Levada walk were mixed to say the least. We decided to visit it anyway, but with the game plan of arriving early. This video shares with you the stunning 25 Fontes trail with its gorgeous 25 fountains, or 25 waterfalls, the Lagoa do Vento which is a must see, sat between the upper and lower sections of Risco waterfall, and after a long upwards hike, the must-see Levada Alecrim with its fish and cascading flume. The PR6 25 Fontes Levada hike is in the Paul Da Serra and Rabaçal area can be made into one of the easy walks on Madeira by utilising the shuttle minibus which can take you to and from the parking area. Whilst it doesn't eradicate all elevation, it makes a significant dent on it. Another way to make the PR6 Levada das 25 Fontes walk easier would be to split the epic hike into 2 smaller walks across 2 days. Complete the 25 Fontes and Risco Waterfall on one day, then complete the Levada Alecrim and Lagoa do Veto walk on a separate day.
