Measuring Energy Expenditure of the Body - Direct and Indirect Calorimetry and Oxygen Consumption

This video shows Dr. Evan Matthews explaining the basics of measuring energy expenditure of the body. Both direct and indirect calorimetry are discussed. Direct calorimetry is how oxygen consumption (VO2) is measured. A brief discussion of calories and the use of a bomb calorimeter to assess calories in food is also given.
