Art Forms used in this project:
Sand Art:
Drawing in sand or Sand Art is a technique based on creating images with fingers in the soft sand. The whole show takes place on a specially design table with a backlit glass
panel. The particular properties of the soft sand allow a neat transition from one image to another creating a space for telling any story you can imagine. In one scene, Alex
employs sand as a medium to craft an image on the ground.
Light Art:
Using a ray of light on a luminescent board to paint a picture, or so called Light Art, represents a unique graphic technology. Alex Dowis represents the absolute top on a global
scale when it comes to this particular discipline. The drawings gradually disappear which creates unparalleled image animation.
Spray Painting:
Spray painting on canvas represents the roots of Alex's creativity and is a highly impactful process in the development of an image that unfolds before the eyes of the audience.
This painting, as one of the few from this performance, won't fade away. It will remain on the canvas, opening up possibilities for the future. For instance, it can be auctioned for
charitable purposes, displayed in a gallery, or gifted to someone as a meaningful gesture. The use of spray paint appears multiple times throughout the performance.
UV paint on a glass:
The glass is illuminated by UV lights, casting a luminous glow on the applied paint. The camera captures the process from the opposite side, providing viewers with a unique
glimpse into the fascinating technique and a close-up of the artist's face. This artistic endeavor draws inspiration from Pablo Picasso, who similarly experimented with glass
painting, adding a touch of innovation to the creative process.
Charcoal sketching:
Alex wields his pencil on paper with incredible speed. The entire process is captured by a camera, providing a close-up view of every stroke. This perspective reveals the intricate
details of the drawing and the artist's hands in animated motion. Alex employs a tactile approach, using his fingers to blend and smudge the charcoal, adding a dynamic touch to
the shading technique.
