TARİHİ RUM EVLERİYLE ESKİ FOÇA I OLD FOÇA WITH ITS HISTORICAL GREEK HOUSES

Adını antik yerleşim yeri adı olan fokların ülkesi anlamına gelen Phokia kelimesinden alan Foça, İzmir'e yaklaşık 65 km mesafede bulunmaktadır. Eskiden burası fokların yaşam alanıymış. Sahil kıyısında bulunan beş kapılar kalesi denize bakan beş kapısından dolayı bu ismi almıştır. Bu kale 15 y.y da Foça savunması için Cenevizliler tarafından yaptırılmıştır. Küçük bir ege kasabası olan Foça, sakinlik ve huzur arayanlar için unutulmaz bir tatil deneyimi sunmaktadır.
