Episode 86. The A-50: Chasing the Invisible

In this episode of "Combat Approved, the viewers will see a unique aircraft A-50. Officially it is called an early warning and control system. In fact, it is a huge flying radar, which can see hundreds of air and surface targets in hundreds of miles of range. In our episode, we're going to put it through some tests. We'll see if the A-50 can see such sophisticated targets as An-2 planes, which are actually made of cloth and wood. To confuse the radar, we'll arrange those planes in a complicated figure, a stack. And then we'll see if the A-50 radar will detect a helicopter hovering motionless in the air. In addition, for the first time on TV, we will present the new generation aircraft A-100. It has no analogues in the world. In terms of its technical characteristics, this vehicle is many years ahead of all its foreign competitors. A-100 is able to see the enemy not only in the air and over water, but even on the ground. Its radar, like the antenna of A-50, sees all 360 degrees around, but twice as far and more precise.
