"The lead vocal of It’s Getting Dark is actually sampled from a song I came across on SoundCloud by girldontcry. I felt inspired to try and create a story around these words by adding my own verses and arrangement to it.

I spent months making new versions and mixdowns trying to polish this song but I kept failing to recreate the intimacy and essence of the first version. At times I felt like giving up on this song but I eventually realized that the imperfections and roughness of the first version was exactly what made it sound special to me, so I stopped trying to finetune it and embraced its rough edges." - Flaws
