Structural Detailing of beam is an essential skill for entry level civil engineers. Reinforcement detailing is not generally taught in any of the civil engineering design courses. Any civil engineering job especially, site engineering job need a thorough understanding of reinforcement detailing and bar bending schedule preparation.
There are many detailing tools like Revit and AutoCAD that can be used for beam rebar detailing. However, without an in-depth understanding of code provisions for detailing of rebars, one cannot prepare a drawing that can be used at site, good for construction. An expertise in rebar detailing means a lot of technical understanding that is useful, correct, practical and sometimes accurate as in the case of pre-cut bars where we prepare bar bending schedules and pre order bars that are delivered at site and used at construction sites with very minimal manual intervention.
