Brief discussion of how I manage young pollard systems. Pollarding/coppicing is cutting trees or shrubs when they are dormant and allowing them to re-sprout. The new sprouts are then managed for various purposes, making pole wood, posts, firewood, etc.
In this case I'm cleaning up the 1st year growth of black locusts that I pollarded to release nutrients and light in an area I want to grow more food in.
