Ranatunga vs Warne World Cup Final 1996: Did Ranatunga win it even before the match started?

Sri Lankan Skipper Arjuna Ranatunga started the war much earlier than the first ball of the Final. Ranatunga got to the nerves of Shane Warne and he seemed unable to get out of it. The tension was visible between the two with long-stares and short word exchanges. Arjuna hit the ball back ferociously through Warne's fingers in his last over before continuing on to dispatch a chest-high full tossed delivery over long leg for a maximum. Sri Lankan victory was merely a formality by the time Warne completed his spell with a costly last over.
