In a recent report by the Central Groundwater Board #india, excess #nitrates have been found in #groundwater in 440 #indian #districts. The excess nitrates could be attributed to #farming practices and due to the subsidised #nitrogen based #fertilizers. However, it is not just nitrates which are responsible for #contamination of #waterbodies, but also #uranium and #fluoride. India's water crisis is getting worse and something needs to be done NOW.
