What is Guest Account in Windows and Security Risks?

The default Guest account allows unauthenticated network users to log on as Guest with no password.
These unauthorized users could access any resources that are accessible to the Guest account over the network.
By default, the Guest account status is disabled!
This policy setting should have NO impact on most organizations because it is the default setting only in Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, and 2003 servers.
Renaming the guest account security setting determines whether a different account name is associated with the security identifier (SID) for the account "Guest."
Renaming the well-known Guest account makes it slightly more difficult for unauthorized persons to guess this username and password combination.
