The online launch for Forced Migration Review 72 on ‘Ukraine: Insights and implications ’, held on 17 October 2023 and hosted by Emily Arnold-Fernandez (FMR Managing Editor) and Catherine Meredith (Deputy Editor).

Panellists are Alex Mundt (Principal Situation Coordinator for UNHCR in Ukraine), Anna Kalinichenko (Senior Pro Bono Lawyer, DLA Piper), Aleksejs Ivashuk (Founder of Apatride Network), and Emiliya Bratanova van Harten (PhD candidate, Lund University).

FMR 72 seeks to address questions that have arisen out of the war on Ukraine, reflecting on the lessons learned from the immediate response and the implications for the international refugee and asylum system. During this launch event, four authors will discuss the issues raised in their articles, including the strengths and weaknesses of the EU’s Temporary Protection Directive, pro bono legal support for Ukrainian refugees and the challenges faced by stateless people in Ukraine.
