Complexity in this world seems to be growing at a continuous pace. Seeking not only affordable but also sustainable results is where Design Thinking comes into the picture. Ms. Gupta talks about the relevance, process and areas in which Design Thinking can be applied.

Kanika Gupta is a design strategist and textile designer at Izel. Izel’s two units, namely, Izel Homes and Izel Labs are engaged in design thinking practices. Ms. Gupta focuses on user-centric approach in textile, experiential brand strategy, and spaces. At Izel Labs, her focus remains on social as well as user experience projects while Izel Homes focuses on spaces and textiles. She has over 8 years of work experience spanning from a short corporate stint, to her founding Izel.
A graduate of Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in Design Studies and Bachelors in textiles from National Institute of Fashion Technology, her interest lies in problem-solving at the crossroads of the user-centric approach to businesses. Prior to her founding Izel, she designed an experiential store design for Matki Brand with the INCUBE8 team, Singapore. She also led the communication design of a street campaign, titled ‘against overconsumption’ in London. She has worked in London and India, which has given her a transcultural approach to the process of thinking.
