Octopath Traveler: CotC Arena Units and Collab Free Units Ranking (Global 2.10.00 Version)

1. Hammy
Hammy can turn anyone into a tank, period. Additionally, she can be a Tome nuker if you want her to be. Her A4 can lower the tome resistance of enemies by 10%, plus increase tome damage by 30% when switching to the front row. It's okay for her Ultimate to stay at level 9. She can recover the HP of the tank in front of her by 15% of the damage taken, which is very beneficial. Her A4 can provide a 15% increase in Physical Defense and Elemental Defense for a paired ally, which is good for tanking. Combining "Hammy's Trap" with "Detect Weakness" can lower the Physical and Elemental Defense of all foes by 25%.

2. Serenoa
Serenoa is a versatile tank and a proficient sword damage dealer. Both of his passives make him useful for sword and shield shaving, though they can sometimes affect breaking. I would recommend turning them off when necessary. It's okay for his Ultimate to be at level 9. Useful skills include "Ranged Firestone" for causing combustion, "Desperate Resolve" for provoking all enemies and adding defense, and "Twofold Turn" for double casting and buffing. His A4 is perfect for speed clearing, and the only downside is that it only lasts for 3 turns.

3. Varkyn
For someone who has not yet entered the Bestower of All, I would recommend getting Varkyn ASAP. He is extremely useful in Hell (not kidding) because most of the enemies in hell are weak to light. His passive, which imparts self with Elemental Attack up 20% when at 50% SP or less, is good for certain tactics. With his "Traveler Only" accessory, you are able to double cast his skills. His A4 is a must for Elemental teams, and with Laura on the team, you can lower the Elemental Defense of all enemies by 15% for 9 turns. His Ultimate is okay at level 9. He alone can lower light resistance by 30%.

4. Yan Long
Yan Long is your ultimate staff damage dealer and my MVP in the Elite Tower second floor. He alone can lower staff resistance by 30%. His ultimate is somewhat lackluster, but his A4 is one of the best free A4s in the game. When breaking an enemy, it lowers their Physical Defense by 10%, which is significant for many Physical and Ice comps.

5. Glossom
Glossom is a physical fan damage dealer. Notable skills include "Destructive Wild Blow" with a low chance to impart Physical Defense Down by 20%, and "Baleful Ballet II". He can lower Physical Defense by 30% all by himself. With "Warriors’ Waltz II" and "Warriors’ Waltz III", he can impart the entire front row with Physical Attack Up by 30%. His Ultimate is better at level 10 (imparting Physical Defense down by 10% is significant in the ultimate category). His A4 is okay and good for someone who is tanking or someone like Ogen, whose HP is always below 75%.

6. Tikilen
Tikilen is a wind damage warrior. All of her skills are dedicated to wind damage. With her A4, she can have a 30% increase in wind damage. Her A4 is the best free wind damage accessory in the game, lowering an enemy's Wind Resistance by 20% when breaking.

7. Ri’ tu
Ri’ tu's passive allows her to hit 5 times when using a normal attack. Her Ultimate is somewhat lackluster, and her A4 is okay if you lack any dagger damage up accessory.

8. Gertrude
Gertrude is an axe damage dealer. Her kit is built around axe damage. She's a straightforward axe damage dealer. Her Ultimate is a nuke, and her A4 is okay if you lack any Axe damage up accessory.

9. Yunnie
The only time I use her now is in the job tower using "Cross Fire" and "Evening Calm Assault" for the boss ads.

10. 9S
I use him to fight Tatloch in Bestower of Power final fight, and he is kind of good for that fight. And that’s about it.
