My friend Cyrus and I set out on a very wet and muddy sub-30 hour bikepacking excursion from San Francisco's ferry building to Half Moon Bay via Golden Gate Park, the Great Highway, and some dirt trails from Pacifica into Half Moon Bay

We camped at Half Moon Bay State Park at the hiker/biker site, enjoyed several delicious tacos and a few beers in town, made some new bike friends around a cozy fire.

Day 2 we rode back up into Pacifica and over the ridge where we hopped on BART in San Bruno and ended our trip all smiles.

We were both riding Priority Gemini gravel bikes, giving them a thorough test as bikepacking rigs. With the Pinion gear box, Gates belt drive, and Smart Shift e-shifting, no climb was too steep, and confidence was high on the downhills. Although some muddy single track got the best of me (twice), a little mud did nothing to dampen my mood!

Overall, an amazing overnight trip to the coast to cool off from the hot temps inland!
