Dr. Patel has a PhD in Immunology and Infectious Diseases from Montana State University, Bozeman where she studied the sensory/regulatory system of clinically relevant strains of Staphylococcus aureus and its interactions with the host innate immune system. Prior to joining USC, she served as the Founding Director of Research and Assistant Professor for the Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program at Rocky Mountain College, Billings-Montana where she built sustainable educational and research programs for students and faculty. At the School of Pharmacy (SoP), her responsibilities include coordinating various aspects of research development (educational programs, research opportunities, expansion of core facilities, performance analytics).
