The global Child Labour Task Force is pleased to offer a webinar on an innovative new multi-country programme and research on “Effective Approaches in Ending Worst Forms of Child Labour” hosted by World Vision, War Child UK and the CPC Learning Network.

World Vision (consortium lead), War Child and the CPC Network presents their new programme focusing on testing innovative strategies to understand what works to reduce and prevent the worst forms of child labour in fragile contexts. This programme will enable girls and boys to enjoy their rights to be protected from the worst forms of child labour in the Central African Republic (CAR), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Ethiopia. It will specifically focus on those forcibly recruited into armed conflict, used in prostitution, forced labour or hazardous work in fragile contexts. Over 24,000 people will benefit directly, and over 400,000 people will benefit indirectly through the awareness raising, legal and media components.

The EAPEC programme will test and measure innovative approaches to understand what works in reducing the Worst Forms of Child Labour (WFCL) in fragile contexts. It is the first of its kind to bring together a consortium of international NGOs (World Vision and War Child UK) and local partners, private sector, a well renowned University (CPC Network at Columbia University), a corporate foundation (UN Global Compact), a social enterprise (Fifty8) and media development agency (Thompson Reuter Foundation) to tackle the supply and demand issues which result in child labour in fragile states. The programme will also bring new evidence to the sector while testing the assumptions in the theory of change and the necessary combination of activities to effect change.
