0:00 Intro
Today I'm lucky to be joined by a very skilled Indian UiPath RPA Developer, Parth Doshi. He will show me, how to use the new UiPath Apps, where he builds a live inventory dashboard.

0:27 Excel data and the final product
The data is from Excel and is an inventory. The UiPath Apps will ask the user for a product name and then feature all the information of the product (stock, orders etc.).

3:57 Start UiPath Apps
To start and create a UiPath Apps go to UiPath cloud and click Apps. Give the app a name. The app can not be external, but is only for the Orchestrator users of the company.

6:16 Share the App
We can export, duplicate, share and delete the app. After published we can run it from the Apps dashboard.

7:03 Edit the frontend
Using the App Studio we can edit our app. To add an icon chose it from the huge library provided from UiPath. Using containers it's possible to make the app look good. You can explore all the other nice features (rules etc.) in the design tool. Best practice, according to Parth, is to build our app and then the workflow.

19:20 Text Box
We can add a Text Box to take input from the user. That input we can use in our workflow. Remember to use arguments in your workflow.

19:58 Search Button
A simple button that will trigger something in our UiPath workflow.

20:47 Messages for our user
When our app e.g. loads or is finished, we can define what messages, we want to give to our end user.

21:22 Finishing the Frontend
Parth shows us, how to design and finish the frontend of the app. An app can access more than one workflow. Imagine we can ask our user to either open or delete an Excel sheet and then we can automatically to that for him/her. That's completely possible.

29:04 UiPath Workflow
Now Parth builds the backend of the app, that is the UiPath workflow in Studio, as you know. We read our Excel data into a datatable with a Read Range (workbook).

30:00 Lookup Data Table
To lookup an Excel sheet there are a lot of options. The best advice is to take the simple one - the Lookup Data Table activity.

32:04 Multiple Assign
Using the row index from the Lookup result, we can now assign values to our outgoing arguments.

38:11 Create Process
Chose your package and create your process to use in UiPath Apps. Remember to tick Automatically Start Process.

41:52 Add Orchestrator Process
In UiPath Apps you specify the Orchestrator process, you want to use. Remember to map the arguments here as well (value binding).

47:38 Start a UiPath App
How to start the UiPath App after we have created it.
