Before choosing a train, determine where you need to go. Narita Airport has two train lines: Keisei Line and JR (Japan Railways) Line.

0:14 - Keisei Skyliner
Fastest way to Ueno and Nippori, which is great for northern Tokyo. The fastest train is from Narita Airport Terminal 2,3 Station to Nippori Station, which takes 36 minutes. When you purchase Keisei Skyliner tickets online, through a designated travel agency or aboard your flight, the price is discounted to ¥2,310.
Tickets purchased at the ticket counter or machine cost ¥2,580.
For e-tickets, visit a designated ticket counter or use a limited express ticket machine at the station to exchange it for a physical boarding ticket, where you can choose your preferred departure time.
Starting January 24, 2025, Keisei Electric Railway introduced the "Face Check in Go" service, allowing passengers to use facial recognition for boarding, eliminating the need to exchange e-tickets for physical tickets. The service covers four stations: Keisei-Ueno, Nippori (North Gate A only), Narita Airport Terminal 2, 3, and Terminal 1.
If you wish to select specific seats or modify your reservation, you must exchange your e-ticket at a ticket counter or vending machine, as the facial recognition service assigns seats automatically based on availability.

There are multiple ways to get Narita express tickets:
1. Online via the JR East website or app. Before boarding, exchange your reservation confirmation for physical tickets from the counter or machine.
2. JR Ticket Office (Midori no Madoguchi) at the Airport
3. Ticket Machines - English available
4. With a Japan Rail Pass (JR Pass)
For better deals, consider purchasing the TOKYO Round Trip Ticket at ¥5,000 or a JR special discount pass.
All seats on the N'EX are reserved. Ensure you have a reserved seat ticket before boarding.
If using JR Pass, You can take Narita Express for free, but you need to reserve a seat at a JR counter.
If you have an Unreserved Seat Ticket, you can use any vacant seats, if there is a customer who has reserved the seat you are in, please vacate the seat for them. Refunds will not be made if there are no vacant seats.
2:55 - JR Sobu Line (Rapid Service)
one departure per hour from Narita Airport - provides a budget-friendly option to Tokyo Station, taking approximately 90 minutes with a fare of ¥1,340. this train has free seating, makes multiple stops along the way and is covered by the JR Pass.
3:15 - Keisei Main Line
the most affordable option for traveling from Narita Airport, with a one-way fare of ¥1,050.
The train stops at key stations, including Nippori & Ueno (75 minutes from Narita), and others
3:37 - Sky Access Express
It reaches Asakusa in 54 min, Ueno in 67 min (with transfer) and Shinagawa in about 1 hour and 25 minutes. The fare is ¥1,290 to Asakusa.
From Narita Airport to:
Oshiage (Tokyo Skytree), Asakusa, Shinagawa (Direct)
Nippori, Ueno (need transfer)
4:09 - Seats & Facilities
The JR Narita Express (N'EX) and Keisei Skyliner are more expensive because they provide reserved seating, comfortable seats, have dedicated luggage racks, making them more convenient, and offer faster ride with fewer stops. power outlets, wifi and toilets are available on the train.
JR Sobu Line, Keisei Main Line and SkyAccess are regular commuter train with non-reserved seating with limited luggage space, only overhead racks, and take longer due to more stops.
4:54 - Tickets
NEX and Skyliner require both a base fare and a limited express ticket fare.
You can either Purchase a single ticket that includes both the base fare and express fare, or Use an IC card to cover the base fare and buy only the reserved express ticket separately.
For other transportation options from Narita Airport, only the base fare is required, or you can simply use an IC card.
Insert just the JR pass into the automatic ticket gate.
5:31 - Narita Airport Station Layout
At Arrivals, Take the escalator or elevator down to BF1 - Narita Airport Station (成田空港駅)
The JR Travel Service Center and Skyliner & Keisei Information Center are located next to each other.
• For the Skyliner or other Keisei trains, head left.
• For the Narita Express and other JR trains, go right.
You'll find ticket counters and machines in both areas. After getting your ticket, pass through the gates and follow the signboards to your platform.
