Crossovers (or SUVs) seem to be everywhere at the moment. Every manufacturer from Dacia to Rolls-Royce has introduced one in the last few years, and they have been such a success that Ford is planning to discontinue its entire American passenger car lineup (except the Mustang) in favour of SUVs. Is this a stupid decision or is there more to this trend than meets the eye? In this video, I travel to rainy West London and borrow my friend Jim's very fine 2017 Skoda Octavia 1.4 TSI SE-L estate (which I helped him to source) to ponder this question, whilst trying (and failing) to keep my fingers away from the camera lens...
