Thermal springs in the Ecuador Andes. Papallacta is on the way to the Amazon. There are several pools and areas to relax, the complex is clean and has good infrastructure. It is only a 1 and 1/2 hour drive from Quito or even less. A very good option for a day trip from Quito. It is also a good stop for travelers that are overlanding into the Amazon rainforest. There is a restaurant on premises, the staple dish in the area is trout, there are several farms nearby and you can find high quality dishes for as little as $10 for a lunch menu.

There are several trails into the nearby Cayambe - Coca reserve, there is the possibility to spot spectable bears, but most visitors will enjoy andean scenery, strawlands and lakes.
