You know I didn't think that slimes would do this to you. With them force feeding the Guardian you gain the benefit of being bigger. However your special attack changes to spitting slimes instead of fireballs. Any regeneration of HP by Digestion is essentially nullified (empty calories I guess). And you risk the danger of popping.
