Hot Process Soapmaking Tips: What Do I Do If It Looks Like My oils are Separating?

When making #HotProcessSoap you are nine the same territory as waking a sleeping teenager. You really don't know what to expect.

Someday it will be flawless. You will see all the stages, the volcanoes are calm, smooth creamy batter. Other days, volcano after volcano, skipped stages and more.

One thing that can happen during the applesauce phase is separation of oils. So what do you do?

First stay calm. If your measurements are correct. Your #soap wants to soap. It just needs a little help. So keep your eye on your soap at all times and react quickly. Some oil pooling is part of the process. It will #emulsify as the process continues. But here is what you can do to help. Note: try these steps first and save your stickblender. In this video I am using an #alclad stick blender.
