Dragon Quest 6 (SNES): Exploring n’ Looting Prison Town + Aiding the Rebellion! + Akbar n’ 2 Guardians Boss Fight + 2 Retro Achievements

Right off the bat, I defeated the Sorrow Giant, obtained the Prison Key and entered Prison Town for the ‘Prison Town’ achievement.

It wasn’t long before I was thrown in jail. However, I was able to free myself and explore n’ loot the Prison. Good old General Soldi gave me some Soldier Uniforms which I gladly used to escape the Prison. Once in town, I had to remove it to explore n’ loot it.

I learned the people were unhappy and planning a rebellion to overthrow Akbar! After saving a prisoner from execution by wiping the floor with 2 prison guards, I encountered an unwinnable battle with Dogma n’ Zozogel! Srsly, I would pawn em if not for the script! 😡😡😡

Needless to say, I was thrown back in Prison and lost the Prison Key and Solider Uniforms. The people took matters into their own hands by helping us escape and gave us the Prison Key.

Inspired by my valorous actions, a full fledged rebellion to save Anna from Akbar was bout to ensue!!

I joined the rebellion and defeated Zozogel before facing Akbar n’ his goons. It was such an easy fight, I could afford to save the 2 wimpy guardians for last. I got the ‘Fulfilling the Prophecy’ achievement for owning Akbar. ✌️✌️✌️

With the great demon defeated, I took my time to return to the Prison and freed the Great Sage’s younger brother, Krimut. He duly gave me the Orb of Truth to show me the way to Deathamoor’s Castle.

The townsfolk’s celebrations in liberating the town was short-lived. Deathamoor unleashed his wrath and petrified everyone except for a few cats! (are felines immune to petrification on Dragon Quest?)

There’s nothing much I could do, so I continued with the story.
