The hit was a soundtrack to the movie Mannequin, which was also nominated for the 1988 Academy Awards, competing against (I've Had) The Time of My Life by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes.
In a radio interview, Hammond said that he wrote the song with Warren before marrying his then-girlfriend: "It's like marrying my girlfriend and nothing can stop us."
