The actress Sienna Miller has said she feels "fully vindicated" after winning "substantial damages" from the publisher of The Sun newspaper over alleged phone hacking.

In a statement read on her behalf at the High Court in London, the 39-year-old described how she felt the newspaper "brutally took away her choice" and tried to "profit out of her misery" by allegedly leaking that she was pregnant.

"In particular, The Sun published numerous intrusive stories about her that contained intimate private details about her relationships and feelings and even her confidential medical information."
