In 1965 GM made its debut for the newly restyled B body platform, with smoother roof lines and coke bottle figure the changes made to the B platform set the mark in being one of the most popular body styles the general ever produced. The Bonneville has held the title for being Pontiac’s flagship vehicle since 1958 and our example is a great lesson in why Pontiac was giving Cadillac a great run for their money in the 60’s. When it comes to comfort and style it’s hard to beat an almost 20 foot long convertible. Power for this luxurious cruiser comes from the numbers matching 389 V8 that was rebuilt and bored .30 over in 2009. Once on the road you can feel the ease of power this 389 has and the smoothness only a GM hydra-matic can deliver. The plush parchment interior compliments the red exterior quite well and you would be hard pressed to find a more comfortable highway ride. During the restoration the convertible top hydraulics were all replaced as well as the top itself with a high grade glass window replacement. Body bushings, upper and lower ball joints and the majority of the suspension were also replaced during its frame off restoration that was completed in 2010.
