EL DERECHO DE VIVIR EN PAZ. SUBTITULADO INGLES.
2019.

The right to live in peace is a song by Chilean singer-songwriter Victor Jara, killed by soldiers in Chilean military dictatorship in 1973.
Today, all of Chile raises its voice against a political and economic system, for decades of abuse of power against the people. In two weeks of protests there are more than 17 dead and thousands injured by Chilean police and military.

Different Chilean artists recorded this song, with modifications to the original lyrics, in the context of the demands of the Chilean people.

The musicians and present in this collaboration, in addition to an important number
Just as colleagues throughout Chile, we join this initiative - together with Joan Jara and the Victor Jara Foundation - to make a version of “The Right to Live in Peace” to portray the current struggle for the country's dignity.

In the words of Victor, "... The new Chilean song was a song that emerged from the total need of the social movement in Chile. Violeta set the road for us and that's where we continue ..."

We as artists repudiate the actions of the government by militarizing the streets, killing and torturing our people, we raise this song as a genuine attempt to generate deep and structural changes in our society.

For a fair and dignified country.
