Syracuse completed their first season sweep in history against Notre Dame with a 79-65 victory on Thursday night inside the Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center. The win marks the first road victory for the Orange versus the Fighting Irish in program history and improves 'Cuse to 17-2 and 7-1 in conference play.

Dyaisha Fair led Syracuse with 25 points. Alaina Rice (19 pts) and Georgia Woolley (12 pts) both posted double-digit scoring. Fair now holds sole ownership of the number 10 spot on the NCAA Division I career scoring list with 3,085 points. She is now eight points behind ninth place Rachel Banham (Minnesota). Kyra Wood led the Orange in both rebounds (13) and blocks (6). Wood now has six games with double-digit rebounds this season.

Freshman Hannah Hidalgo led Notre Dame with 23 points while posting four rebounds and four assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Orange and the Irish entered the fourth quarter tied at 51-51. 'Cuse opened the scoring with a layup from Fair, followed by a jumper from Alyssa Latham. Syracuse proceeded to rally a 23-6 run, with six different Orange players putting points on the board. The Orange led by as much as 17 points in the fourth and outscored the Irish 28-14 in the final quarter.

CLEANING THE GLASS
Syracuse outrebounded Notre Dame in the contest, 50-34, with 19 boards being offensive grabs. Wood led the team with 13 rebounds, followed by nine from Woolley, eight from Rice, and seven from Fair. The rebounding dominance helped the Orange score 23 second-chance points.
