Venezuela food shortage worsens, as more than 100K Venezuelans cross over to Colombia

It’s early sunrise at the Venezuela-Colombia border . Time for Venezuelans to cross over to Colombia to stock up on for food and medicine as shortages get worse. More than 100,000 Venezuelans crossed over last weekend. President Nicolas Maduro closed the border nearly a year ago.“Thanks to God, we have the opportunity to be able to cross (the border) and stock up, and bring to our families everything they need.”. This is what people are carrying back to Venezuela. Falling oil prices have triggered an economic crisis in Venezuela. Inflation is sky-high at 480%. Nearly 90% of its people can't afford food. “They are selling flour for $2.50, rice for $2.50 and with the minimum wage, we don't have enough.”
