Yamaha CP70B Electric Grand Piano demo

Demo of CP70B after recent repair work on the pre-amp, tuning, action and regulation.These pianos have a very unique sound of their own. Although the action is virtually identical to a grand piano, the CP is smaller than an acoustic grand and does not contain a sound board. Yamaha 'electrified' the piano using piezo electric pick-ups located under each string. When the piano is played the piezo pick-ups detect the electromagnetic changes and produce a small voltage which is then sent on to the pre-amp. The pre-amp allows you to control volume, 3-band EQ and a tremolo effect. All these facets add up to the CP's distinctive sound. They were particularly popular during the 70's through to the 90's with artists such as Billy Joel, Genesis, Stevie Wonder to name a few, and more recently with bands such as Keane.
