Looking for THINGS TO DO in WY? We take you on a tour of Fort Laramie National Historic Site in Eastern Wyoming. In this tour we go through the Fort Laramie and its history. Fort Laramie was originally established as a private fur trading fort in 1834. Fort Laramie evolved into the largest and best known military post on the Northern Plains before its abandonment in 1890. This “grand old post” witnessed the United States western expansion of the Oregon Trail and Native American resistance to encroachment on their lands. In addition, Fort Laramie was where the Treaty of Fort Laramie was signed. Where famous Sioux Chiefs came together with the delegates from the USA. Make sure to check out our Oregon Trail video.
