Overall ratings are the most pointless things in FIFA. They actually make the game worse, and I’m going to show you exactly why. Before we can talk about the theoreticals, let’s start by talking about how overall is actually calculated. It’s actually really straight forward. Each stat is given a ‘weight’ depending on the position. For a CM, this will mean increasing short passing makes a midfielders overall improve faster than if you increased short passing on a striker.
