Скачать или смотреть US joins EU, Japan, Philippines, and Australia in condemning Chinese drills around Taiwan

The United States and a number of international partners have denounced China’s large-scale “Justice Mission 2025” military drills around Taiwan, warning that they heighten tensions and pose risks to regional and global stability.

The EU, UK, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, South Korea, and the Philippines expressed concern, stressing that peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait are essential to international security and prosperity, and rejecting any unilateral effort to alter the status quo through force or coercion.

The governments called for restraint and urged dialogue as the means to address cross-strait issues.

Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the statements as a sign of a strengthening international consensus in favor of peace and stability, with Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung thanking the US for reaffirming shared democratic values and its opposition to the use or threat of force.
