How I Beat Bayle The Dread Boss Fight - Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

Bayle the Dread is a bonus boss fight in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. He is a very difficult fire boss at the very top of Jagged Peak.

When learning how to beat Bayle the Dread, it was important to complete Drake Warrior Igon's sidequest as he can be summoned during the fight if you complete his sidequest missions.

You first run into him yelling and screaming about defeat on the side of the road. As you continue through Jagged Peak, you will encounter the Ancient Dragon Senessax. Once you defeat Senessax, you will hear Igon yelling again and you can interact with him to learn more about his story. This will allow you to summon him during the Bayle the Dread boss fight.

In addition, you can also find the Grand Alter of Dragon Communion where you will meet the Dragon Communion Priestess. She will tell you about Bayle the Destroyer and ask you if you want to want to devour Draconic Essence.

If you choose to devour the Dragonic Essence, she will reward you with the Ancient Dragon's Blessing. Using the Ancient Dragon's Blessing during the boss fight will give you damage protection against Bayle the Destroyer.

The only drawback is that it is a one time use-item only. This means that each time you fight Bayle the Dread, you will have to return to the Dragon Communion Priestess to get a new one.

You can return to the Dragon Communion Priestess as many times as you like and she will continue to give you a new Ancient Dragon's Blessing.

Having the additional help of Igon along with the Ancient Dragon's Blessing will make the Bayle the Dread boss fight a bit easier, but he still deals a ton of damage.

He doesn't have a whole ton of moves so I mostly just close to him and dealt damage, then when he started to charge up his fire attack at his feet, I ran outside of the range to try to avoid as much damage as possible.

About half-way through the fight, he will grow wings and start to fly around the arena shooting fire lightning up out of the ground which you can dodge by avoiding the warnings on the ground. He then lands directly on a player and if he is targeting you, you will need to time your dodge as he lands.

Once defeated, you are rewarded with Heart of Bayle.
