rew up on the banks of a river, the Temo, itself unique because it is the only navigable one in the region. The urban layout has been adapted to the unique conformation of the terrain, and is dominated by the Malaspina Castle, which houses the church of Nostra Signora de Sos Regnos Altos, with a valuable cycle of frescoes dating from the 14th and 15th centuries.

Another striking feature of Bosa are its colourful houses, close to each other, the alleys and cobbled streets that follow the altimetrical curves of the hill, the stairways that asymmetrically interrupt the horizontal paths and the archaic and surprising urban structures. Corso Vittorio Emanuele stretches in the lower part of the city, at river level, is paved in basalt and cobblestones and flanked by tall 18th-19th century houses. The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, of mediaeval origin, probably dating back to the 12th century, is today the result of various interventions that have left an interweaving of different styles. The Sas Conzas district recounts the tanning tradition of Bosa and is now a complex of industrial architecture that was declared a national monument in 1989. While just outside the village, in the countryside, is the beautiful church of St Peter.
