Decathlon Quechua 500 Using it correctly.

Описание к видео Decathlon Quechua 500 Using it correctly.

There are so many people still unconvinced or insistent upon (even if they actually don't even own one (I guess they don't own one because if they did they would have stated they owned one) saying the Decathlon Quechua 500 is rubbish and doesn't work.

Firstly let me say, i had nothing to do with the design of this stove, nor am I being paid by Decathlon to say anything good about it or am I being sponsored by them in any way shape or form; I bought this stove, it wasn't given to me.

This stove does not operate like a Firebox. A Firebox is simply a fire in a box as the name suggests. At the outer base of the Quechua 500 are a series of small holes, these are the air intake holes, where air must pass into the cavity of the double wall of this stove. When this cavity is made very hot, that clean air will rise and then combine with any unburnt gases at the top of the stove and a secondary combustion will occur at all of the encircling holes that sit under the inside lip of metal near the top of the stove. When the stove is in proper operation one can easily see flames (usually blue from the clean air mixing with unburnt gases)

When the gases are great then these flames can easily extend out past the outer holes at the top of this stove and hence able to heat even larger diameter pots and pans. We (actually it was JBCT) have demonstrated this by using walnuts and waste walnut shells as a source of high oil content fuel, whereby a large iron skillet was placed atop of the Quechua and it was easily heated (see the video here).
