Welcome to another Prositetutorials video. In this one, you will learn what are Wordpress widgets and how to use them effectively. Before we start, let's reply to the first question:

What are Wordpress widgets?

Well, with Wordpress widgets you can add several functions to different parts of your website, most commonly to your footer or sidebar section. But this really depends on the theme you're using. Many of them really don't give you much choice and others do.

What are those functions?

There are so many, however, the most common ones are:

Add recent comment or post section to your sidebar or footer.

Add a calendar.
Add images or embed video besides others.

You can also install plugins to integrate more options, such as: sharing buttons to Facebook, Twitter etc; or an e-mail subscription box. If you still don't know what plugins are, just check:    • How to Use and Install Wordpress Plugins  

As you can see, Wordpress widgets are a great way to make your website more interactive.
