Just a Needle Stick Away: Uncovering Genetic Mysteries of Immunity Through Collaborative Efforts

Описание к видео Just a Needle Stick Away: Uncovering Genetic Mysteries of Immunity Through Collaborative Efforts

In this seminar, we hear from Cecilia Poli, MD, PhD, the Program of Immunogenetics and Translational Immunology director at Universidad del Desarrollo. Dr. Poli explores how studying inborn errors of immunity sheds light on how the human immune system is regulated. By examining immune cells, researchers can conduct functional studies to establish disease associations and deepen our understanding of immune mechanism.

PNRI’s Science Matters free, virtual seminars feature discussions with scientists around the globe about exciting research in genetics, genomics, and evolutionary biology with important societal impact.

Topics include research on the genetics of ethnically diverse populations, diseases afflicting vulnerable or underserved groups, and efforts to expand the diversity (broadly defined) of research subjects or the scientific workforce.

The seminars are free to attend and open to the scientific community and anyone interested in learning more about genetics. These are virtual events (via Zoom) and require advance registration. Visit: https://pnri.org/events/science-matters/ to learn more and register for upcoming seminars.
